Why should I get a PET fountain?

Why Brook?

Brook is the first all-glass pet fountain. All components except for the pump and filtration parts are made of glass. It is designed to be as easy as possible to clean and maintain.

What’s special about glass?

Glass is the most hygienic material –  it is the most resistant to the growth of slime and other pathogens. Additionally, glass is fully homogenous – it will not leach harmful chemicals into the water if it is scratched, chipped or in any way damaged. It is also the easiest to maintain, as all key components are dishwasher safe.

What are the weights and dimensions?

Is the glass lead-free?

Yes - all glass parts used in Brook are lead-free and food grade.

Is there any plastic?

We’ve reduced the plastic to the necessary minimum: the only plastic parts are on the pump and filtration components. All plastic parts are FBA-free and food-safe.

Can the flow rate be adjusted?

The flow rate can be adjusted using the included flow reducers that snap into the pump. Brook has three flow rates – Low, Medium and Full.

Can the light be turned on/off?

A silicone cover for the light is included with Brook

How is Brook Powered?

Brook is powered by a standard USB port. An outlet adapter is included.

Can I make it portable?

To make Brook portable, you can use a rechargeable power bank and plug the fountain into it – that has the benefit of portability while also giving you flexibility of picking the best battery for your needs. An added bonus is that you also don't need to replace the whole fountain in the event that the battery fails! : )

Filtration

How does Brook filtration work?

Our filtration philosophy is simple – do what’s effective, avoid anything unnecessary. That means filtering out debris to protect the pump, and removing chemicals with activated carbon. 

This keeps filter replacement affordable and keeps needless waste out of the landfills – without locking you into expensive and proprietary filter cartridges. You can read all the details on this in this article:

There’s a marketing arms race going on in the cat fountain industry you should know about – it’s affecting your wallet and your landfill.

How often should the filters be replaced?

The coarse filter ring should be replaced monthly (and rinsed with every cleaning!)
The activated carbon pouch should be replaced every two weeks,

Does the carbon filter basket need to be replaced?

No, the carbon filter basket is reusable – only the activated carbon pouch inside is replaced.
